Rain Technologies is Ottawa’s Bootstrapped SaaS Startup of The Year!

Ottawa, ON, (April 5, 2024) – Earlier this week, the Rain Technologies team was honored with an award for their progress within and impact upon the Ottawa’ Software as a Service (SaaS) Industry. The Bootstrap awards were held as a part of Tech Tuesday, a monthly event which celebrates and recognizes the city’s contribution to global technology and innovation.

This award comes as no small feat, as Ottawa is known as the fastest growing tech hub in Canada – often considered the Silicon Valley of the north. The National Capital Region contributes $13bn annually to Canada’s GDP. The award presented to Rain Technologies reflects the company’s contribution to this statistic. 

“Thank you everyone for your continued support. Without you all, we wouldn’t have the privilege of walking across that stage last night to accept this honour,” said Alex Labreche, Founder and CEO of Rain, in a recent LinkedIn post.

The Bootstrap awards recognize local startups that have received no equity funding from the business community or beyond. While Rain Technologies won in the SaaS category, the other winners this year include:

• Constant Health (Winner of Bootstrap Capital Award)

• Whimble (Winner of Founder of the Year Award)

Rain joined in a night of celebration along with the other award-winning companies. The founding team and representatives from the marketing and development branches were in attendance. 

CFO and co-founder, Vanessa Galarneau, added that, “ The support and kindness we receive from this community continues to amaze me.” She went on to promise, “in turn – we’re doubling down on our commitment to create the fantastic tools that our clients know and love.”
